由于降雨量锐减，津巴布韦面临着粮食欠收和食物短缺的难题。日前，津巴布韦哥纳瑞州国家公园上演了一幕数百名饥饿村民瓜分一头大象尸体的惨剧。

据摄影师大卫·钱塞勒介绍，拂晓刚过，一位村民骑自行车经过哥纳瑞州国家公园，他在灌木丛深处发现了一头死去的年老公象。尽管这里前不着村后不着店，但在15分钟内，附近村庄的数百位村民便闻讯而来。

男人们争先恐后地拿着弯刀、斧头和用罐头皮制成的小刀在死象身上大切大割，还不时地相互打斗争抢；女人们则站在外围等待。

仅仅用时1小时47分钟，村民们便将这头高约4米、重约6吨的大象瓜分完毕，仅剩下一副鲜血淋淋的骨架。

大象身上的所有部分都被割走去吃，包括它的鼻子和耳朵。有些肉拿回去马上就被吃掉了，但是大部分都是挂在晾衣绳上晾干以备日后食用。

最后，象骨也被拿去煮汤。一天时间里，死象留下的痕迹就只有泥土地上的一摊血迹。
